    Photo takers??

Just went for a ride over to Featherston and back, and on the way back through Kaitoke, just coming up to the passing lane, there were two people sitting up on the bank on the left hand side of the road, one with a bright orange/yellow fluro jacket (you know, safety vest type thing) with a large hand held camera with a huge zoom lens on it. I was going about 90kmph as I was following two logging trucks and planning on passing on the passing lane. Anyway, looked directly at them as I passed and the camera was pointed directly at me (You know, looking directly down the barrel!).
My point? What are these people doing? And did they get a nice pic of me? (If so, send it on bro!)

    Reporters?

I would keep an eye on the news on tv for the next day or so, there could be a item on traffic or something similar? Or even the newspapers etc.

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I was supposed to be studying, but couldn't resist the call of the weather!! Just seemed kind of weird, I wasn't doing anything illegal at least! (Well not at that precise moment anyway)

It'd probably make a pretty funny pic, I had my head turned over my left sholder to look directly at the camera (and making the grrrrrrr face through tinted visor, lol), and you guys are sooo cheeky!

Coming home, going down Khyber Pass past the brewery, at about 5.30PM, I change lanes left into the bus lane in order to go past the braking traffic. There's two men, I can't remember if they were fluoro jacketed or not, but one had a large video camera on a tripod. As I went past them, they aimed the camera at me, looked at me, and I saw the guy pick up a walkie talkie and say something into it. At this I got a little worried, as I thought it might be calling the police further down the road for telling me off for being in a bus lane. I even had a speech prepared to say that I'm entitled to be in the bus lane...

Anyway, no copper. Followed some other bikes, a Duke and a CBR400RR around a shortcut to get to Manukau Rd. Interesting. Could it be reporters too? If so, would they be using walkie talkies?

    Mystery people with cameras?

It's probably the Suzuki Talent Squad getting photos of Mrs H taking her Red Bandit to and from Masterton for its first service, etc.

Al Quaeda terrorists checking out possible targets.
You can go anywhere whilst wearing a fluro vest, holding a clipboard and looking important...

If you were in a bus lane at the time those guys are Auckland City Council parking officers out to catch the cage drivers using the bus lanes when there not ment to, the video is just to get the number plates.

Not sure why he was on the radio though, might just be coincidence (sp?)

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round
