Should really use an 85 for an RG wheel, they are only 1.6 rims & they are a real bitch to get to bead. Sadly I sold my last one but I do have a brand new old stock yoko 90 by 17. Say $70 plus postage. I'll have a look & see what they are like, have some 2nd hand maybe.

Ok so you reckon a 95 is too wide.
This is for my spare bucket, the original road tyre on the RG Wheel is a 90 / 90 / 17. I'd really like a slick on the front that's why I've gone to the trouble of fitting 17 inch wheels.
What's the Yoko is it a slick, are they any good ???
Cheers Steve
I reckon 90 is too big, but with perseverance, leaving the tyre in the sun or hot water cupboard, soapy water or some tricky beading wax & callous disregard to safety by using high beading pressure they will eventually bead ok. Some choice swear words will be used but I've never failed yet.
The road tyre will have taller & softer sidewalls. Slicks are worse to bead.
Yokohamas Slicks (the older 110 treaded were good in their day but not as good as the slicks) used to be the tyre of choice for buckets but they have been out of production for quite some time, I bought a few & have had them under my house. To be honest on the 50 where lean angle is imperative give me a late model Dunlop any day or a new style Bridgestone. Older ones of both are much of a muchness, the newer ones are a jump ahead.
Either way the Yokos are far better than any street tyre so it depends on what you want to pay for. I bought a bunch of new gen Bridgestones a mate was getting in from Auss & they were going to be quite reasonable but by the time they had landed they were more than we thought but I'd said yes by then.

A lot of bikes at Mt Welly are running Dunlop TT 900s, Most riders like em. They may be a good road tyre, I don't think they're a match for a half decent slick. The Dunlop slicks on my other bike are the business. They're just so expensive.
If you've got a good Yoko that will fit I'll give you $70 for one and see how it goes. Let me know what you've got. Thanks Dave

Yeah have 2 brand new ultra soft compound. A couple of cracks appearing in the sidewalls but they did that from new & were never a problem, my old Dunlops & Bridgestones have some too.
PM sent.
