    Womens Refuge Ride

After the success of todays ride for hope and talking to my mum she asked me to have a talk to some people and ask for an expression of interest for a fundraiser.

My Mum works for the Women's Refuge and is a member of the fundraising committee there, so in July the Refuge hold their annual street appeal collecting money to raise awareness against domestic violence and to protect women and children who are being abused.

    For more information goto:

She had an idea to possibly run a charity ride similar to the project hope rise organised today, that could coincide with the street appeal or later on in October/November time of year?

So bottom line, would KB'ers be interested in this sort of event?

Alex, there already is an annual Women's Refuge ride in Wellington.

    Don't be like that Alex.

    White Ribbon ride.

Do a search and it will show up. I think it even starts in Kapiti usually.

Anything like that down in Christchurch? I'd certainly go on it if so. (We bought a house previously used as a short term shelter for battered woman and I think the spirit of the place has inhabited my soul).
