    W.O.F. Testing Station - WELLINGTON

    Hi,

My ZXR is due for a W.O.F. Would anyone know any 'reasonable' W.O.F . Testing Stations around the Wellington Region thats good with bikes. I dont want to take it to a VTNZ. This is due to what they did to my Skyline... "Hmmm, I'm not to sure about that 'intercooler', might as well fail you for it". (Intercooler passed else where with no trouble)

Now that I gots my horn going Im ready for the W.O.F.

    Thanks Guys.

Any bike shop will do you well. Motorad, WMCC, etc.

Yep I reckon they are okay too. They had THREE guys swarming all over my bike when I took it there, it was like ants on a dead mouse.

I'd reccomend VTNZ. I've always found them really good.

I don't know how the VTNZ guys are here in Wellington but I stay away from VTNZ in general. Last year a bought a car and did a pre purchase inspection at VTNZ (not in Wellington). They told me: "yeah, it's sweet, we haven't found any problems with it". Three months (and about 1000 kms) later I took it for a wof at a auto mechanic here in Wellington and the guy failed me for tyres too worn and struts gone (too soft). When I protested, he took me to the car and demonstrated me that the tyres were too worn and the struts were WAAAY too soft (the car was bouncing 2-3 times). There were other things also, but these were the major ones

I took my bike at Motorad/Sawyer motorcycles for WOF last week and the guys were very friendly and helpful.

Just got back from Boyle Kawasaki in Adelaide Road. They had a look at my bike and checked it over. It failed the W.O.F. but then again I knew that was going to happen with the 'Rear Tire', they also said that I may need to replace my 'Steering Ball Bearings' as it seemed a little stiff. Other than that they were very helpful with other questions I had.

It really depends if you want to just "get away with a WOF" and you dont really care if the bike is safe or not. In that case, goto VTNZ. If you want the crap inspected out of your bike, Wellington Motorcycles will do the job well.

Yep. These guys are good. I get all my servicing done there and always ride away with the peace of mind that everything required has been done properly and I have been informed of any items that may require servicing or replacement within the next xxx kms.

Thats what I mean .. do it right and know you stuff .. works better that way and you know you are as safe as you can be ... then all you have to worry about are the other mad barstards on the road!
