    1990 ZXR A - Idling Question

My ZXR idles on about 1000rpm - 2000rpm is this normal? seems quite low. Have to watch it as it keeps 'conking' out' when ya just leave it idle. I noticed a knob on the right hand side near my knee. Would that be the sucker?

It should say in your manual, usually in the section about tuning.

I don't know your bike but I set mine at 1200 revs in line with what it says in my manual.

Have you checked for air leaks around the carb? This will affect smooth idle.

The knob at your right knee? I'm impressed... if you mean attached to your bike that's the idle speed adjuster....
Has it ever bothered you that Therapist is The Rapist if you break the word in two? It bothers me, especially when they suggest hypnosis.

Always good to have a sucker down there by your knees as well, good job.

By sucker do you mean the choke? If so this is for cold starting only. When your bike has warmed up does it run ok then? If so you don't have an idle problem you need to let the engine warm up frist.

My C model idles at about 1000-900 fine so 1000-2000 isn't low. Will idle at about 6000 with choke on. And yeh that's your idle adjustment but seems like you shouldn't have to worry too much.
