    Yamaha FZX250 Zeal fuel

    G'day,

Just purchased a Yamaha Zeal and was wondering what octane level fuel I should use. It says on the tank and in the manual "Unleaded", but is it better to use premium or regular unleaded? 98RON, 95RON or 93RON?

    Cheers.

    This question again

It's carbed, so just put 93 in it. If it pinks, put some of the higher stuff in it.

In a carburettored bike, higher octane fuel doesn't produce any more power. The only reason to use it is to avoid pinking. Hence, in an injected bike, there are sensors that automatically reduce how hard the engine works if it detects pinking, so it's harder to tell (apart from a loss of horsepower).

But just use 93, it should be sweet if your bike is set up OK. We don't have 93 here, we've got 91, and most people use that.
