    Talking Fantastic news

Bykey Cop has just emailed me to say that my next post will be #2000, so it better be a good one! Well, I’ll let you all be the judge of that but I reckon it’s the best post I’ve made – Mrs B and I are going to be grandparents for the first time - yippee!!!

Not sure how I feel about being called Granddad – smacks of pipe, slippers and old BMW twins but having a grandchild to subvert into riding bikes is a delicious feeling! In fact, I suggested to our daughter in law that a mini-superbike would make a nice christening present and received a very frosty reception.

Our grandchild will be born in Aussie but of Kiwi parents, so that’s ok (hopes riding partner Hammer, who is an exceedingly big Aussie doesn’t see this).

We look forward to being the grandparents from Hell come November

    Nice one Geoff!!!!!
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Good news, hope all goes well.
Just became a grandad myself and I don't feel that old, strange that.
Get the mini moto as a toy for the shed and let them ride it when they come see you, grandads treat.
    Ride on

Thanks everyone, it certainly feels like another stage of life is being entered. The one thing that struck me since hearing the great news is how time seems to have compressed - where has it all gone? It hardly seems like the blink of an eye since our kids were tiny. You really do have to make the most of the time available to you!

And yes Nasty, giving 'em back is the icing on the cake

Great! Our Grandson is 14 months now and it's been the BESTEST 14 months EVER! He's already got a plastic bike and we can't wait to get him a more realistic one! Daughter and Son-in-Law don't mind if we spoil him rotten, either!

    You'll LOVE being Grandparents!

Ever since seeing "The Graduate" in my teens, I've always fancied the older woman Don't think I'll mention it to Mrs B though as I don't want to be sucking hospital food through a straw

Hey Ed, nice thing you did for Paul - big ups mate!
