    Thanks for the sunday ride

I'd just like to thank everyone for a cool time... after 4 days of ownership I have finally had a decent run on the CBR.. only one "pants" moment (near masterton) when i went into a right hander at 120 (or something) and made the mistake of looking at the bank for a second!!!!!.. re-focused on the vanishing point, pulled on some throttle and now have no chicken strips! she laid over like a dream, and after that adrenalin rush, I felt fine for the rest of the day... a heap more comfortable than the zeal (used to have a sore rear after an hour).
and it corners well too... thanks pirelli, for building the sport demon. the old arrowmax on the zeal would have seen me in an ambulance!

and way to go bevan! that gn 250 of yours rocks!!!!

    good to meet y'all

    Thanks again everyone!

specially Paul in NZ, Lynda and Hamish!

    Hope the hangover's gone Jimmy

    No worries

    Hey.

Nice to meet you, and good to hear you had a good run. I also had one "pants" moment... Was going back up the Taka's on the way home, and giving it quite a good go, and my rear started to slide out Quickly fixed that with that boost of skill you get, when you really need it Wouldn't slide it on purpose, cos I don't know for sure what to do when it does hehe. I guess I just eased of the gas.

Btw, your CBR sounds pretty darn good

Yeah cheers guys, that was a pretty fun ride. It's good going for a blast to get used to a new bike

StoneChucker, your nickname's pretty appropriate, I've got a dent in my visor from a stone that flicked up while I was following you!

That R1 must have sticky tyres to keep doing that.

Mr Melon you followed me most of the day so did I cause you the same problems or are my Michelins not so sticky being touring tyres?
    Cheers

What a great ride, big thanks from me and my son (Gunner) to all those who organised the ride and also those who took part. It was good that everyone pretty much kept together so that we could all enjoy and participate in a safe ride. Felt like spring is really here, especially when we got home and it looked like I could have moved the lawns if I had not gone for the ride!

    Not Again!!!

Ok, time to come clean... I've got a Scott Stoner, it continously drops small rocks onto the back wheel... Seriously though, that sucks, hopefully it's not too bad I got pelted, mostly with fine to large sand, some small stones, by a few bikes heading up the water tower road. I guess, for me anyway, I try my best to dodge bad road patches AND stay out of the direct path of the bike infront. Sometimes you just can't help it

But, my rear tyre does seem to be rather sticky, I felt it while stopped today, quite suprising.

    Dave.

OK so that will help me update the references on the photos. I had a chat to Gunner when he arrived on the VTR but couldn't remember his KB name.

    Thanks to Jim2

Thankyou mate, I'm sure I would've enjoyed had I actually been awake enough to know where we were going.

I'm told Quasi and Cajun enjoyed it immensly.

    Good skills.
