Anything can be done, it's just a matter of wether or not it's worth it. Those motors are a bit hard to come by, so if you have one, it would be a better idea to buy a blown up 400 complete bike, or sell it for the fortune ya could get, and put the money towards something else.

My opinion only, and it's usually ignored

Im sure it could be done. But you would probably have to be very handy with the welder to make some new mounts, maybe they will be the same. But after you have got the engine, done the work ( even worse, paid for someone to do the work for you, ) got the electrics sorted ( Maybe need a CBR400 CDI ) and everything, it could quite possibly be cheaper just buying a CBR400?

mmm i guess the only way is to see if the engine mounts are the same.
Also why not do it if it bolts in??

Go ahead and do it if it bolts in. But check that before you go buy the engine, and also, will all the electrics from the 250 cross over to the 400? You will need to find that out first.

would make a pretty cool learners bike too! well perhaps not cool and too fast but yes imagine the look on the face as you kain past a few "fast" riders.

how much bigger are the outside dimentions of the CBR400 engine compared to the 250 though?
