cant you just wack a big stick down the pipe and smash it with a hammer?
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
So how much re-jetting do you need afterwards?
I was talking about the NC30 - sorry about the confusion. Just wondered how easy it was to shag a perfectly good motorcycle by knocking the baffles out and not compensating.
lets say my old green zxr wasn't to happy after running with a gutted zorst, he reckoned i'd shagged my valves still ran fine tho lol
ran it for 4 days with nothing but a lunk of steel plate half covering the zorst for 4 days...with no muffler....
that was ahem, kinda loud![]()
The NC30 sounds so damn good with a loud pipe, do it!
There's a place in Hamilton that does them - Coby Exhausts? Basically just cuts 'em open, takes out the innards, replaces with perforated core and welds 'em up again.
There are other options. Even though it's one piece, you can remove the end cap with a holesaw and pull the guts out. That had been done on my FahrtSturm, and it was way too loud, so I had some end caps made up for it that quietened it a lot.
My VF500 had one rusty muffler, so I had Motorcycle Exhaust Specialists in Chch make me some new s/steel megaphones. Cost less than any other options.
On my VFR750, I used a big drill bit and extension and bored out the main baffle inside the muffler, then opened it out a bit with a RoundBastardOnAStick. It looked standard but had a bit more rumble and rasp than stock. To get the rejetting right, all I did was put a shim under each carb needle and it was good.
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()
Gidday,
Give Warren @ Virgin Mufflers a ring, he's in New Lynn... He can possibly turn it around over night for you
