I'm not too fussed about all the colours on many current helmets, I have to say. I've usually just bought plain white and decorated myself, either paint or tape/decals, although that's a bit limiting due to the naff selection of suitable stick-on stuff you can buy. Current iteration below.
I'd like a racer rep, but old ones, Read, Hailwood, Ago, etc., - the problem being I feel like I'd have to ride like them and feel completely wank never being able to. I like the Colin one, tho', simple and classic. Could live without the stars, true - and there's an AGV I like which looks really nice but has a pretty obvious USA flag spoiling it. Mind you, I probably wouldn't feel that way if it was the NZ flag
    Cheers

Those are some good reflective strips you have on your jacket, can't really see the helmet unfortunately!

Plain carbon fiber weave beats graphics. However people say that solid bright red is much more noticeable and therefore safer.

I'm interested in knowing how people choose their replica helmets - do you chose based on the rider regardless of how ugly it is, or based on the look? Votes please....
Jaysus, how hard can it be? Do you honestly need someone else to tell you what you like? Or do you trust someone elses taste over your own?

If you like the replica's, buy one
If you like the graphic jobs, buy one
If you like the plain ones, buy one
If you like 'em all, buy the one you like best
If you like 'em all but can't choose, then go for a plain one 'cos they are cheaper
If you can't even choose which colour you like best then get someone to give you a good clip 'round the ear 'cos that's pathetic

Of course if you wanna wear what someone else l
Hmm, if you had actually read my post (which you quoted) I said "I'm interested in knowing how people choose their replica helmets", at no time did I say "I wan't you to tell me how you chose your helmet so I can chose mine the same way".

I didn't specifically ask anyone to tell me which one they liked the best but as it happens people have, which is great - it's no different from chatting about which bike you think looks the best (or perhaps you think that's pathetic too?). I think you'll find a large percentage of the threads on this forum are people chatting about what they do and don't like, not purely requests for and replies with hard information.

The fact is I've been thinking about getting a new one for a while (whilst saving the money for one) which made me wonder how people choose - I haven't spent the last 6 months sitting in a room thinking solely about this, I do have a life.

Yeah I like that one, would have to cover up the us flag tho, would prob use some of that reflective tape that looks black in the daylight. I also like the gibernau (sp?).

How about this one, I'm not really into graphics and prefer a solid color or minimalist design, but this one I really like
