AHA! Well, you're going to get Zukin's daughter's perspective on it, because here I am hah.... And no telling as to how old I am... dodgy bikers

It was the night of the party, box 24 bottles... the guy in question was actually my ex bf (at the time we were going out) and so everyone was having a good time, and everyone was drinking his beer, coz they're all too poor to buy their own haha. The next day, as Zukin says, there was 6 left... oops.. but he said "Can I come pick them up later coz I don't really feel like carrying them down the road (has no licence or car or bike ) at 2pm in the afternoon.. so I said, "Sweet!" but I ended up dropping them off a week later, coz we were both too busy during the weekend to pick them up / drop them off kinda thing. And I thought it was fair, because all my mates, and myself, had scored a few of his beers, and they weren't his to start with, they were his fathers.

Personally, I would of left them, to save the hassle. But... *shrugs* I'm just too polite. Zukin's wife brought me up too well

Ahhh, so dad was unaware that you had already promised this dude his beer back.....perhaps a lack of communication on your part.
Telling Dad that, the day after the party might have saved you all some grief???

If it's a big boozy party and you have heaps left then I reckon it's ok to take it home with you at the time (not that that would happen)

If it's a quiet social occasion like dinner or just a few friends then definitely leave it there

Never never go back and get it at a later date.

If I were the host and someone had left a dozen, or a bottle of spirits then I'd put it aside for them. If it was just a 6 pack I'd just drink it.
