    Bye bye house

Well I posted a while back about a house that Dan and I were to be moving into..

The guy is the son of someone I know.. He told us 5 weeks.. At this stage the house was an absolute mess because of the treatment of the previous owners.. 5 weeks flew by and nothing was done... He rung us to let us know the house wouldn't be ready for a few more weeks.. And asked us if we still wanted the house.. The answer was definately yes as the place is 3 minutes from my mums which is where I would LOVE to be..

So that was sorted.. He was getting into it and getting the house finished so we could hurry up and move in..

Its ok we thought.. Gives us more time to sort out furniture etc so that we can be more comfortable than we first thought..

Few weeks came and went and we get the same old story..

THEN!!! We finally received the call to come see him that weekend on the Sunday because the house would be ready for us to move into the following weekend.. And we needed to go hand over bond etc etc.. Sweet!!! about time..

That Sunday morning in the early hours Dan recieves a phone call to tell him that the guys had to rush off to Auckland so we couldn't move in on said weekend it would now be the weekend after.. Because there were a few things that he needed to get finished... (grin and bare it whats another 2 weeks aye? We'd waited this long)

I now recieved a message from Daniel this morning telling me the guys decided that he doesn't want to rent the house out anymore.. all I can say is thats fantastic!! For him!! But maybe the decent thing was to tell us that ages ago instead of dragging it out, and continuelly ringing to make sure we still wanted the place... He knew we did yet held out til the last minute.. Which I now feel was fairly rude...

Maybe theres something thats happened that we aren't aware of.. But to do that a week after planning a meeting between said parties to hand over bond and start moving a few things in is a bit strange...

I extremely cheesed off because of how much time has been wasted.. Where we COULD have already found a house in the kerikeri area during that time...

At the end of the day seeing what he is like maybe we should just be greatful that we hadn't moved in...

I'm trying to think like that but there is so much money thats just gone into furniture, linen, etc that we now have no room to store it in.. So I honestly don't know whats gonna happen with all our stuff.. And I'd say onsell is our only option as there is no where for it all to go... (fan fucking tastic)

My fault for trusting a friends son...

    Back to the drawing board...

I don't suppose it's of any help now, but in those kind of cases, you're best bet would be to get a sample tenancy agreement from Tenancy services and ask the 'friend' to sign it

Too late now... We didn't do things right on our end.. So our own fault... Then again when someone who is gonna be your future landlord tells you that you need to see them to sign tenancy agreement and hand over bond etc you tend to believe its all going down the right track..

Just sucks big time when that "friend" knew our position in needing a house in this area in particular... mainly for my sake as I can't not live near my mum... And getting started when it came to furniture has been so hard for us... And to think I finally got some good news last night when a friend of my dads whos known me since a baby just got hold of heaps of stuff for us.. Just meant a trip to Kaitaia.. We've scrimped and saved and struggled so we could have these things..

Now its all been a waste of money and a huge waste of time..

Sorry to hear about your situation K. Had similar thing happen to my bro. Will be up in Kaeo possum shooting tomorrow night with some friends who have an empty cottage at Whangaroa. Do you want me to sound them out on your behalf? PM me if you are interested, obviously at this stage it is a long shot but who knows eh?

Empty cottage where..? We've been looking and looking and this was the first we've found that close to my old lady.. Kind of knocking on wood here.. Might be moving out Matauri.. *sigh* Well my partner might be.. I'm stuck til I sort another car...Still undecided if I want to follow into that area...

I do know the guy has been trying to get hold of us the last couple of days.. He feels real bad and wants to pay us compensation...

Ain't gonna accept it.. Just gonna dust my hands of it.. And keep looking..

As mentioned may have found somewhere.. But Dan will be living there on his own for a while... If we end up taking it..
