The other quesiton is, why did you lend your guitar out in the first place?
This is something Id never do. Instruments are a personal item. People who borrow them dont respect them to the same level you do.
Unless they are musicians themselves, and you know them well enough to know they wont damage it in any way, then you could consider it.
The same goes with bikes too.

Framus Black Rose, wound with flat phosphur bronze wire, smooth as nylon, good for electric or accoustic and great tone. They've been on the market since the 1950s to my knowledge, maybe before that. You may have to order them but Mainline Music on Wairau road can get them.
I have martin strings, sound great.
Bit more $$$ tho but i think its worth it, havent broken one yet and ive done some pritty big bends :O.
