Post Bird flu outbreak (Ministry of Health simulation exercise)

The first official case of bird flu has been reported in Auckland Hospital.

A 19 year old male from the USA has been treated with Tamiflu.

Flights from USA have been cancelled and quarantine measures have been put in place in all airports and hospitals in New Zealand.

There is also a suspected case in Gisbone and Wellington.

Pah, birdflu, another one of mankinds worries.
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

I have contacts in the hospital. The person leaked their confidential email to me.

Let me assure you this is NO JOKE.

I've just called TV3 and they're sending a news team to Auckland hospital now. Might see something on the 10pm news.

I was in Hong Kong when the Bird Flu thing first came to light...
And SARS too on a prior trip, everyone was wearing surgical masks... we werent tho... n none of us got sick.

Stink buzz for my workmate who's flying out to the US tomorrow, they might not let her back haha... (actually thats not very funny... cuz more work for me to do... bugger!!)

On a serious note tho... hope its not serious
