Home is where your heart is... true... but you don't need to be there. After having in the army and travelled around a bit home has always been Wellington. I've lived elsewhere and will again but I'll always call Hillville home.

Friends family and loved ones you take with you wherever you may roam. Sometimes it's good to be away and realise your independence. Then you know what you can do when you go home, and your perspective changes.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Well fuck that for a start.

You obviously have access to a computer - tried Skype? You can skype to real phone numbers using a thing called SkypeOut. I used it to call a cellphone in the states for HOURS and it cost bugger all.

there are some friends that i would love to see more often... but i know i cannot, then get on with life...

hang in there and have fun.. and STOP calling ET so much... take one day and decided NOT to call anyone.. then 2... after a while it will be a 1hr call every 2 months..

Gotta be comfortable with yourself and by yourself I reckon. Take pride in the fact you can stand on your own two feet unaided and without reassurance. You have control, whether you choose to revel in it or shy away from it is up to you. I couldn't wait to have my freedom and I still guard it jealously.

As for the $300 phone bill, that's just bloody stupid if you aren't rolling in cash. Ditch the mobile (except for safety reasons) ration yourself to 1 call a week (on a landline, skype etc) and get on with living your life and enjoying the extra coin in your pocket.

You related to Colapop? He's here in Wellington.

From what I understand of him, he'd ride to Auckland for a hug...Napier shouldn't be any problem.

I know very well homesick since 6 months...
And there are 10 hours of jet-lag between Auckland and Paris..
So the best thing I found: skype and msn, both free, and you can see each other and talk in the same time!
Hard to find the time when your friends and you are connected at the same time etc, but still good to hear their voices...
My problem is: 26hours flights and 2000$ for the airplane ticket...No friends working, so no money, so no trip to New Zealand...

This might sound harsh - unless you can learn to cut away from what you think is home you will always be homesick, make home where you are not where other people are.

Well, girl, you know that we are a caring, sensitive bunch who are always willing to listen....now harden up
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

We do hugs here too, girl! And ours are always of the affectionate variety, rather than the bone crunching type.....
