Arr thats true... the hippy look!
Sorry I didnt make it to your house elle.. riding all day with Ronin has me shattered.
Heres my promised Ride Report:
Arrived at Ronins at approx 1200 hrs. Had a natter and off we went.
Approx 1205 hrs we arrived at the shell service station in Masterton. Fulled the tanks up with gas, checked our tyres, had a natter, a drink and a smoke. Then again off we went.
The weather in the rapa was beautiful.. as usual. The skys over palmy way looked grey and misty. I was starting to get a little worried that RONINS decision was the wrong up... not surprising though.
At approx hmm 1240 hrs.. we arrived at our next stop Ekatahuna. Stopped, Ronin needed to get supplies from the dairy, another drink, and natter.
Then at some stage we stopped again, not sure of the time or even were we where, but we had to put on our extra jerseys, and change our visiors. Ronin telling me, he didnt give a crap if I didnt want to carry on, I was going too.... such a bossy boots!
Stopped just after the Track... and decided to go to Ashhurst to gas up again. The windmills are magnificient.... should have taken my camera.. I am sure I would win the 'Photo Compedition' with one of them it in.
Went through the gorge to the little Cafe over the bridge (no idea what the name of it is) Nice place... nice outdoor bath (have to get myself one of them). Had a coffee and some food. Then at approx 1440hrs we headed home again... Ok so we stopped once on the way home. In all 200kms travelled... not a lot really but I am friggin shattered. No untoward things happening (Ronin was on his semi-best behaviour), practiced my counter steering.. in all a good day.![]()
Well, I'm having a great trip so far.
Rode to Wellington on Friday night after work and had a quiet night as there had been a big one the night before and I had to get up early for the ferry on Saturday morning.
Crossed on the 8am Bluebridge sailing. Rode through to Blenheim and caught up with my Aunty and Uncle for lunch. Continued on down the Waiau (sp) Valley to St Arnard- very straight and boring. After St Arnard things got interesting with some exciting corners through to Murchison, heaps of fun!!!
Gassed up in Murchison then headed down to Springs Junction, again some nice corners through there and a quick photo stop at Maruia Falls.
Springs Junction to Hanmer Springs over the Lewis Pass, my my that was fun, again some lovely sections with fast flowing corners mmm.
Overnight pit stop in Hanmer complete with a soak in the hotpools.
Next morning off to Christchurch- some interesting bits but mostly boring long straights except for Weka Pass. Had lunch with my brother in CHCH, then down to Timaru after that. Mind-numingly boring down SH1. Dead straight and cops everywhere
Got into Timaru, and shit from family about my hair. Couple of days pit stop in Timaru now with the folks, then on to the next leg...

Yay... Sounds like loads of fun Brent... except for the cops and your hair part!!!I am not in the slightest bit jealous....
