    Pretty much everyone

Andy - My experience is that it depends on your base knowledge of mags, tyres etc...

My first port of call wouldnt be Trade Me. I would ask someone whose knowledgable in the topic and who could make a recommendation. If that wasnt possible I'd look on the internet. If I didnt have computer it would probably be visiting places and getting pamphelts and talking to people.

When I was looking for a set for the wagon - Trade Me was a pain in the ass. That was because at the time I didnt understand offset and stud pattern. (Strangely enough my GenY 12 year old son did?!) Additionally it was hard to visualise what would look good and what wouldn't.

Point being advertising to an unknowledgeable market is one thing but providing information for them to make confident and informed decisions and thereby the interested in seeing you is something that should be part of the package.

    In general...

Try a focused approach. Identify a taget and try to approach directly. ie a mail out or feature add in a specialist publication.

Try to feature a distinct product every month. 10% all chromies this month - limit 3 per customer or something and above all MEASURE the success of each campaign

I can hook you up with a very clever lady that can do all this for you?

    Cheers

Funnily enough, I heard an ad for Manukau Tyre and Auto on The Rock, so I'd probably go there. Despite Nigel and his stupid name.......

I think Mag and Turbo have a great marketing scheme, especially in the supporting of the High Octane vids and regular bits and pieces on Performance Car TV.

If I knew no better, I'd probably go there.

this leads back to targeted marketing... know who you are trying to market too, and be where they are.

I think, besides targeted marketing, word of mouth/partnerships are your friend. ie, if you don't do tyres, but someone nearby does, you partner up, or garages etc.

New customers cost you more to obtain, than keeping your existing customers. Keep the existing ones happy, and they should spread the word.

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
