    Angry Service station confrontation

I went for a ride today to te puke and came home through Papamoa. stopped at bp to fill up (although the gn never seems to use fuel). I filled up then went in to go bathroom then pay. Put my helmet back on and started the bike then this guy in his cage looked at the bike then me (while backing to the pump beside me). He looked at the bike then smiled at me. I thought oh he is just admiring the bike. I got on started the bike up he then came towards me and said don't you know there are other people filing up here I said yes. He said stop pissing around and move so other people can use the pumps do you live in a world of your own. I just looked at him not quite knowing no to say. He ranted on I just said whatever mate and rode off. Now there were hardly any cars there at all and my bike is tiny I parked quite far forward so other cars could park and this wanker starts ranting and raving about me pissing around. I don't no if its a car drivers mentality not to like bike riders or what. Anyone else had issues with some cage drivers

Sounds like a Tosser, I would have just ridden off and not listen to him at all. You have as much right as any age driver to pay for your petrol, go to the toilet before moving out of the way.

Yeah and I wasn't there for that long. If it was REALLY busy I could kinda understand but there were only three cars at the station.

Yeah, sounds like a tosser. If there was plenty of pumps available, I can't see what his beef was.

But I can see both sides of the story. If you're going to do anything more than pay for your petrol, then shift your vehicle away from the pumps. That includes toilet trips.

I've seen people sitting inside consuming coffee and food, with their vehicle sitting at the pump! There's no need for it.

My pet hate is following someone up to the pumps, who then stops at the first pump, rather than moving forward to the front. Arrghhh!

I have noticed that it is acceptable for a car to stay parked at a pump while the driver goes pay etc but people seem to expect us to move our bikes as soon as we have filled up.

Never been able to figure it out....tossers

What a jerk. Those petrol hoses reach a long way, I'm sure he could've gotten round you if he tried.

Yeah but he didn't park n pay . He parked "pissed" then payed . If your gonna do that move the bike out of the way. I'm gettin sick of waiting to attract the attention of the "Indian" who constantly repeats do I want todays special without even looking at me. Most of us drive cages and we're all getting more impatient

hehe i had a run in with a woman early last year at the pumps she had stopped at the first pump not gone into the 2nd which was empty all the others were full she filled up and then got a child out of the car and walked past me to go pay, i said to her would you mind moving so i can fill up she just looked blankly at me and carried on so i backed out of the servo (i was in a Prado) and went around and backed up to the front of her car and stopped about 25mm away from her bumper and proceded to fill up she came out ranting and raving at me so i ignored her and went to pay she got in her car after abusing my 14 yo twin sons (much to their delight) and backed up then from about 2 meters away rammed the back of my 4x4 as i was paying i said to the guy at the till "look at that" he was gobsmacked i went out to get her to stop when one of my boys jumped out with a hockey stick and told her to fuck off and threatened to smash her windscreen so she backed out and fucked off with the front bumper pushed in by my towbar no damage to mine but lots to hers, i laughed at her as she drove of screaming at me.........thank christ im not married to her

I've had this discussion with a dickhead who pulled up behind my bike after I had gone in to pay for the petrol. I came back out and as I was gearing up the guy beeped his horn. So I wandered back and asked what the problem was. He of course had a rant about moving the bike, so I asked him if he'd behave the same way if I was in a car? He started ranting again so I spoke across him to his wife and asked her if he usually had an anger-management problem!? She told him to shut up at that point

However, if a petrol station is busy I do usually move my bike out of the way, only to avoid some cage driver trying to move it, or worse squeeze up to the pump with their car with the bike still there.

Yeah...I almost allways push my bike away from the pump as soon as I have filled up. What pisses me off is that people seem to expect me to and not appreciate that I am being polite!

jeez what a wanker!! if there was free pumps, whats his problem. i, as a petrol worker, never ask customers to move unless:

they are at the first pump [as virago said] and the one in front is free.
we are mega busy and theres free space to park
they are waiting on a gas bottle and holding petrol customers up [by parking next to a pump]
they are a large vehicle [ie, camper van] and are waiting for a bottle and blocking the windows, which means the inside staff member cant see.

i once asked a scooter rider to move up and let a car in [rather than lift the hose over a "bike" and risk damage] and got majorly abused for my trouble. she was parked on the far side of the 'court, and we were flat out. the car would have basically had to park on top of the scoot for the hose to reach.

personally, i move the bike up in front of the shop windows or around the side of the building as soon as ive finished filling. only time ive left the bike at the pump was when it was pissing down.

why did you stop for gas in the first place if your gbe2fiddybag 'never seems to use gas'?

are you one of those types who tends to find they are often riding along with their indicators on?

The obvious thing to do to people that pull up at the first pump when theres one in front is to wait until they go inside to pay.......casually stroll over remove there keys and watch there embarrasment when they cant move there car...................
