    How many inventors on KiwiBiker?

    Hi.

I am just wondering how many inventors there are on KB.

If there are a few I would love to hear what you have done...

    (Any special tool makers?)

I pride myself on invention of the wearable computer mouse - the one built into a ring and controlled by a thumb (allowing simultaneous control of the mouse and typing). I never told anyone (and had no resources to patent it) but it was reinvented by Belkin and showed up in CompUSA for $19.95 6 years later. Can't say it was a big hit though...

well, i have my crazy schemes on inventing things (like flavoured toilet seats and the DISCOMBOBULATOR 2000 for automobiles... but sadly, no one has ever taken interest in my intellect... I wonder why...

Flavoured toilet seats? I don't even want to consider what would lead you to think of that.

Did some things back in the days, computer controlled waste heat recovery system which won an award at the national science fair and a PIC controlled silt detection/diversion device with which I took out the national brightsparks competition.
Never actually got past the working prototype stage though...

Quite a few electronic related stuff in the past.

I'm working on a couple of things at the moment; A portable solid waste compactor (for residential and light commercial/industrial) and a machine process for effeciently sorting different grades of plastics.

Hopefully have the compactor proto-typed in the next month or so, then going to setup a new company to develop it further and eventually market them. Got quite a lot of interest in NZ, but want to focus on Asia.

Sounds really interesting... How would you get the sorter to do the sorting?(Or is it a trade secret.. )

I think its actually a very active sector to be working in.. Lots of investors are seeing that recycling and going green is important and will only get more important in the future!!!

My invention is called the "Shower-e-oke". It's a waterproof MP3 player with built-in speakers that one sticks to the wall in one's shower so that one can sing along to the show tunes and Abba's Greatest Hits that are downloaded, complete with the lyrics.

    'Invention' is a ridiculous term.

There is science, and then there is engineering.

I've never met anyone who designed anything truly useful and then referred to it as an 'invention'.
kiwibiker is full of love, an disrespect.

And that, Dear Heart, is why the "Shower-e-oke" remains an invention...

I nominate STEAM. His re-invention of the interesting bike is to be seen to be believed. Truely a unique look and quality execution.

LOL.. Might be because while you are working on it,it's an invention and as soon as it's done you sell it on Trade-Me with it's own name. (Else how would you tell the difference if they were all called inventions.. and you can charge more if it has a really catchy name+description of what it's suppose to do!!!)
