Got lots planned guys and girlies.

    1. Got to orgainse our little Road Trip up North.. probably Taupo.
    2. Cold Kiwi in Sept (will make a new thread sometime about it)
    3. South Island Trip in the summer some time (maybe just for a longish weekend)... combined with the KB get together (if they have it in the rapa) in Feb.

Sounds great Mel. I'm keen for all those, and let me know if ya want some help organising- tho I think you did say I was the South Island chief organiser or something.

And here is the Cold Kiwi entry form and info

Well... you are the Up North Organiser too remember. Should be easy to organise.. just need to book cabins/whatever in Taupo prob, we just have to pick a date.

Cold kiwi.. easy, just need to buy myself a tent.

Yeah. I stayed there a couple of nights in my tent at the camping ground near Burger King. They had cabins and stuff there too with spa, bar, restaurant. I tried the hotpools up at Tokano (sp) just up the road and was a nice soak.

Can highly recommend Extreme Backpackers too. I don't recall them being too expensive. They have a climbing wall as well and they are an easy walk to the shops which is v-cool.

& i know 86 can recommend club habitat .. has its own bar where they love to stay open all hours of the nite .. pretty much everything on site .. depends on how much you want to spend, & if you want simplicity or expense ..

But I LOVED the roads up there .. that was awesome ..

Club Habitat- I think thats the place I stayed and had a great night in their in house bar. Yep, stayed open very late and enjoyed a drink or many with a few locals and guests. The barman even used to rebuild CBR250's so we had a few yarns about that too

Roads are nice. Rode up there from Mstn through some back roads as far as Taihape, then Desert Rd to Turangi overnight. Round the lake and stopped at Tokano (sp) Hot Pools then another night at Turangi, short hop through National Park to overnight at Whakapapa (tenting in DoC site, not the fancy lodge), then down SH4 paraparas to Wanganui and back to Mstn.

    Could be a good plan

See this is WHY you are incharge!

I wouldnt have a clue where to go... as long as I dont have to sleep in a Tent for this one, and there is a bar, I will be happy.
