Haven't ridden with anyone from the 'rappa yet but it's about time. Hope you're all friendly! I'm from Masterton but living in Palmerston North (@ Massey). This ride sounds like a good time to meet a few wairarapa riders... Hopefully my zephyr will be fixed - otherwise I'll bring my GB.

Yep we are friendly... its the welly riders that are dodgy.

Its something in their water. But you being from Masterton you already know that.

Let us know where to meet ya. You will have to find your own accommodation me thinks, but I think some others might be coming as well who have to. Saturday Night we will meet up for drinkies anyway.. should be a good time.

I've just hatched a cunning plan.

Seeing as I may have to take my cage and don't get to enjoy the thrill of riding my motorcycle to Turangi, perhaps I should take my skis and have a couple of days on the mountain. I could still take gear for the rapa crew, but I would probably want to get away quite early (5-6 am ish or maybe even the fri night!) and therefore may not be able to take gear for the KD's.

Thats my cunning plan so that at least I can get a good blast on the weekend away without my bike.

OK, with Murray selling his bike he no longer wants to come with us now

and therefore we can't use the batch.

Just had a look on the Extreme backpacker and Club habitat websites.

There are a couple of possible options.

Extreme have the 8 bed dorms $21 pp (no bedding) or the 6 bed ensuite $24 pp.
Club habitat have 6 bed backpacker room $22 pp (no bedding) or Family unit $27 pp (based on 5 people)

Any preferences?

1) Change the weekend so the racers can go too

2) The racers go Manfield-Turangi instead of Manfield-Home

??

Due to Kinje not having a bike for this trip, and other unforseen circumstances where others may not be able to go, we are going to have to POSTPONE this Rapa Road Trip.

Bit sad as I was really looking forward to getting out of the Wairarapa and doing my first big trip... and getting drunk!

We will definately be still doing it, just at another time, maybe in better weather. Sorry to anyone who has been put out...

Me and Kinje are still thinking of doing the Cold Kiwi though, which almost but not entirely makes up for it.

Yep, hopefully I'll be back up and running for Cold Kiwi and heading up to that with a bit of a crew.

And keep watching as the Great Rapa Roadtrip will be run to somewhere at some other time
