Seriously, I reckon Tom should pm a couple of the gun riders/guys who have ben racing for years. Guys like Shaun and Frosty (both of whom are unfortunatly not here at the moment sorry! ) Look around the race report threads and pm some of the guys there

Google Keith Code and also Twist of the Wrist

He is the racing teaching guru (scientologist unfortunately but hey, can't have everything) and the books are the racing bibles.

Serious, Craig Sheriffs- "I never ride on the road, learn too many bad habits."
Andrew Stroud, hasn't owned a road bike in forever, and niether of the above take race bikes on the road.

Use the pent up aggression from not riding like a dick on the road, to go faster on the track.

Race heaps, lose heaps, crash a few times, then it will all start to come together.
