Hey, Mad Duck- can you tell Frosty that Jaz is thinking of him from over the water? Hope he doesn't have to stay in for much longer; he'll go insane with boredom- or drive the nurses insane, more likely!

I hope things work out with the new job as well. *fingers crossed*

Frosty texted me to say that he'd been interviewed for the telly.

Campbell Live has a story on tonight about overcrowding causing problems in one of NZ's largest hospitals.

Maybe he'll be on Campbell Live tonight?
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

It appears they didn't show his interview... no 15 seconds of fame for our Frosty. They were saying that patients were having to wait up to 12 hours for treatment. How long did he wait? 48 hours or more? Just beyond a joke really. I hope the operation went well mate. Kia kaha buddy.

Got a text about 1/2 hr ago from Madduck.

He has (finally) had his operation and is out of theatre and in recovery. Groggy but everything went well, apparently.

I went in to see him at lunchtime, and he was sitting in exactly the same place (in the A&E foyer) as he was at 11.00 last night. 18 hours wait just in North Shore. 48 hours since he binned on Sunday at Taupo.

Surgery was complete and he was on the ward at 7pm. Dont ask if the surgery went well cos I aint no surgeon but apparently took just under 2 1/2 hours.

He was heavily drugged and in and out of sleep so I left him to get some rest. He called me a "bitch" when I gave him some cheek so he must be ok .

The nurse said he would be there minimum of 24 hours. Now tomorrow is his birthday ...I can say that because it will probably come up on the front page. So he will be pretty damn miserable having to spend it in hospital.

No doubt the next update will come from the man himself. Albeit slow as he will be typing one handed for a while.

If you want to go see him visiting hours are 2pm to 8pm and hes in ward 7C. His phone will hopefully stay hidden tonight so he can get some rest.

Thank you for the updates on how Frosty is doing.
    Much appreciated.

Frosty rest up and heal well.
