Police 10-7 has no Maoris?

Interesting story on TV about TVNZ coming under flak for mentioning Police 10-7 as having a significant Maori content. I'm sure I've seen Maori and Pacific Island police in there before - so how come Pita sharples and his buddies automatically assumed they were referring to the crims?

Guilty conscience perhaps?

what chance do Maori in this country have if their leaders automatically assume the worst of them?

The head of tvnz was answering questions. His very quick-fire reading of a list of "NZ" programmes appears to have been a very vain attempt to asuage the concerns that they are not providing enough "Maori" content in their programming.
A quick "Chur Bro!", in shortarse street, appears enough in the eyes of tvnaziland to warrant inclusion in that category.

Ah yes, the New Zealand propensity to hear that which is not actually there. Hence I get red rep from stupid bastards that don't know when I'm taking the piss.

This phenomenon has won me a few legal situations in business too when people have thought something was said and I was able to prove that no such thing was ever said nor mentioned

He did make a good point which stated that Bilingual or total Maori programmes would not rate well.
Tvnz is a business after all and unfortunately as shitty as it is, the vast majority of the population doesn't understand Maori.
If Tvnz stated showing these programmes prime time which was suggested and then ratings dropped, which was followed by a drop in advertising, which was followed by a loss by Tvnz, would there be a meeting asking why?
Obviously an over simplistic example but playing devils advocate.

I fucking know, they have a whole channel to themselves, they can bugger off and watch that.

The charter is bollocks anyway. "We need to show NZ shows.." let's face facts most shows made in NZ are bollocks, do what most TV channels do anyway, choose the best shows from around the world and slap them on, if they can afford them that lol.

Besides, I bet one jam tart, that most Maori's don't wanna watch Maori shows or channels I bet
