Thailand Motorbike Taxi drivers drafted in as Police Volunteers

To increase the efficiency of the local police force, 500 motorbike taxi drivers in Pattaya, Thailand, have been drafted to act as “Police Volunteers”, acting as eyes and ears as they ply their trade.

The taxi drivers have been given training in how to conduct themselves if they encounter a crime taking place or if they see anything out-of-the-ordinary which requires assistance from the Police.

So behave if you hire a taxi in Pattaya… the police may be closer than you think…
