    Congratulations Bradley Smith

Normally I try to avoid "chest-thumping", but I have to say congratulations to Bradley Smith for the 1st podium finish by a British MotoGP 125cc rider since 1989.

Also well done for the maturity shown (he is only 16 remember) at the press conference afterwards, where he thanked his team "Not only for this weekend, but all the other weeks this season and the whole of last year for bringing me to where I am today."

Great achievement and may it be the first of many more.

What, to me, was a real compliment came from Pesek (the championship leader remember), who was happy to tuck in behind Bradley as he knew he (Smith) would be able to bring the pair of them into contact with the leaders.

That is saying a lot about a 16 year old in his 2nd season at that level.

My goodness didn't he look ever so much like a young (but skinnier) Scott Dixon at the press conference?

Hell of a ride though. I couldn't have done that when I was 16. I couldn't even do that now...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Feel free, it was a long time between drinks.
I hope the lad can carry it on from here.
