Right, so when I looked at the thing today, and saw that the bike is dues a warrent last week, after several swear words, I began to check the bike over.

Few things I'm having issues with on the KR

No Indicators are working, bulbs are fine, and there is only one fuse on the bike which is also fine.

I need some wing mirrors from somewhere.. any ideas?

and, the exhaust baffler is leaking slightly, will this fail me? Its not any louder, just the tiniest bit of smoke when you give the engine grief.

indicators - check the wiring. i had 1 busted wire that stuffed all my indicators up (it was busted under the seat)
mirrors - can you mount bar ones? they were only like $30 each at motomail (2nds)
run some fancy smokeless oil and expensive petrol when you to the wof - worked for me on the RG

With the smoke, it's a stroker so it is exempt from the `visible smoke' stuff. If he gives you shit, remind him that two-strokes have an exemption and to look it up in his book.

Are they just ordinary mirrors that screw into your brake/clutch lever assembly or similar, or are they those fancy fairing-mount ones?

Sounds like you may need to get the old multimeter out. Check if they're properly grounded first -- there's often not a wire, they just work by contact with the frame or whatever they screw on to, this seems to be the most common problem. Other than that... just have to try and trace it, it's a bitch on a bike because the wires rarely go in a logical manner (at least to a guy who plays with electrics).

They are fairing mounted ones, though I might take a look at Motomail, cause the current ones are too short to see anything except how sexy I look in my jacket.

For the indicators.. they are screwed into a plastic fairing, so the Earth must be coming from somewhere else. Bloody things.

The mirrors are designed for displaying your armpits. Nothing else... unless you are a 12 year old thai boy.

Check your relay, most problems, if not the bulbs, are caused by that. Also be sure to check your actual indicator switch.

Mirror(s) must be fitted - if only one, it must be on the right side. The law does not stipulate that they must be 'useful'....
As for indicators - agree that is a relay or wiring problem. Handlebar switch rarely causes this issue.

Let us know if you find some decent mirrors. All the after market ones I've seen are heniously ugly, or extremely small. It would be nice to be able to see what is going on behind me without having to do the chicken dance to get my elbows out of the way.

Had the three contacts in mine so corroded and gunked up with bits of spider that had nested in there that it would cause intermitent activation of the indicators.
