The Poms certainly do it well and Blakes 7 was a great watch on a low budget. Not such a great watch now though.

I liked the little details like how they would stumble when de-materialising on uneven ground.

The test-of-Time award would have to go to Star Wars. It took over 20 years before it started to look dated.

Not much on offer at the moment apart from SG1 & SG Atlantis....whats up with that???

Red Dwarf & B5 would definitly top my list of series.

Bookwise my favourite scifi authors at the moment are Elizabeth Moon (Serrano / Vatta series) & David Weber (Honorverse)

Hitchhikers Guide, the book, the radio series, the BBC TV series....but not the film, such a long wait for a let-down.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Contact (but I preferred Carl Sagan's book). Wish Arthur C Clarke's Rendezvous with Rama had been made into a movie as that would have been superb.

I just like the idea of what mankind's first contact with a sentient alien race will be like. Probably like none of the above, but it will be the most important thing ever to happen.

Fantastic 4 - but only because Jessica Alba is so damn hot - the movie was complete and utter shit.

I think Rama wouldn't make a good movie as the size and scope of the 'ships' would be almost impossible to convey. Perhaps I'm wrong but I feel as though a Rama movie could never live up to the book.

As for TV shows, I really like Battlestar and SG-1. Few shows can match the exploration of humanity/philosophy than the Original Star Trek. The last show I really like is Farscape. Highly under-rated.

Yep, it would have needed someone like Peter Jackson to carry it off (maybe) but your comments are spot on and with a scenario like that, the skull cinema wins every time eh?

Loved the movie but strangely enough thought the series was pretty average

Dark Angel was a really good show. Lost it's way in the second season a bit but the first season was quality.
