A list of this type must accompany each shipment and must match what goes into the crate at both ends, EXACTLY. That means, no extra tyres to come back etc etc and broken stuff must also come back.
MAF clearance at the other end can be a major stumbling block, so having an agent that will collect the shipment and take it for MAF clearance before we get there would be advantageous.
Mel and some guys rented a camper and stayed in the camping ground at the circuit. That seemed to work very well. Provides a means of transport at the same time, but elsewhere is good if the whole team can stay there and just rent a car instead.
I suggested a budget of maybe $2-3K, please revise that to $5-7K plus the costs of tooling up with spares etc.
Also, qualifying. Remember that there will be a strict qualifying standard that will be adhered to. So you might go through all this effort and get only two 10 minute practice sessions! Recall that at least two of the top Aus 125 bikes are worth inexcess of $100k!!! The standard is still pretty high.
The bikes must be totally fresh, must be set up with correct gearing (which we can find out) and must have multiple spares (cranks, pistons, clutches, pegs, bars, fairings) accompanying each bike.
Another option for a younger rider maybe is to accompany one or two riders as a team member and help with bike setup and the like and get a feeling for the place that way first and perhaps save the money for a fully funded serious 2008 NZ national series.
OK, cool. We will proceed.
Cheers
