Well, it was windy and cold... but it wasn't rainingso the day was off to a pretty good start.
It was my first time in medium group so I was a bit worried about holding bigger bikes up, but I knew it would be safer for me then being in slow and trying to wrestle with the bigger bikes in the corners, only to have them overtake me on the straight and have to start all over again :slap:
I can't remember all the sessions as there were so many and they all seem to blur together the next day![]()
While we were lining up to go out it was quite intimidating... there were like Gixxer 750's and even a TLR1000... and there I was on my little 150 ring - a -dingerI was really pleased after the first session as I only got passed by one bike, and even passed a bigger bike (obviously not on the straight!), so knowing I wasn't holding any one up was reassuring.
All throughout the day I was focusing on being relaxed and smooth, which didn't really work in the first few laps as I was tryin to get use to the wind. Man little bikes get blown easily!
By about the 3rd session I was scraping my knee's more and scraping the pegs less. Hehe, feels so much nicer then having the peg dig in!
By the end of the day I was feeling a lot better about corners and starting to be able to stay relaxed most of the way around the track. Still got loads of things to improve on, but they will always be there, so over all... I'm totally stoked with my riding
Thanks so much to Suzuki NZ, Kiwirider Mag, the marshals (who were there even in the freezing wind), Avalon and Keith for their help/advice and encouragement with the RG and my riding, Allen for timing me (2:01.. WOOT! Last time I was timed it was around 2:15), Addle for the pics, and every one else who made this day possible and or I can't think of at this moment![]()
