I know exactly how you feel. I get treated the same way every time I'm at the lingerie store and I ask to try on the wares (or at least give 'em a good sniff). They treat me like dirt.
I hate sexism in retail establishments.

In space, no one can smell your fart.
haha - I found the same thing when I first started wandering around bike shops. Don't notice it anymore - or perhaps they are all just used to me hanging out in their shops now...![]()
Of course it helps to drop in little titbits of knowledge like 'gosh I can see that it really does wheelie better after dropping a tooth off the front sprocket...' or 'I have to agree with you, the new K7 GSXR 1000 really does do 167kph in first...'.
Or you could just go with the usual female approach and take your money elsewhere - that one is really pretty effective...
PS Forgot to email you Friday - will do so Monday!
Exploring pastures anew...
It's a shame LilSel, but their loss, not yours! I used to work in the car sales industry and quickly learned that the best customers were the ones who didn't look like they knew anything about what they were buying. Sounds as though you're looking for the same sort of upgrade bike as I will be when I upgrade to my full! Mid sized sports bike. I love sprotsbikes!Still, unlike your experience, I generally get treated levelly when going to check out what to upgrade to. Have had salespeople suggest GSXR1000s and Hayabusas!
Was going to bling you for the first post btw, but apparantly I've whored myself out too much in the last 24 hours.
There's a guy on here who's selling his 2000 CBR600F4 on Trademe for $5000 no reserve. If I was closer to upgrading I'd just be buying that, it's a tidy looking bike at a very tidy price! Speaking of tidy bikes at tidy prices, I'd have liked inlinefour's '05 CBR600RR as well, that's a bargain too... but again, a bit too soon for me! Ah well. As soon as I'm on my full I'll be test riding everything I get a chance to, so I can make an informed decision knowing I've ridden it and enjoyed it, whatever it turns out to be.
Good luck to ya![]()
Soapbox house of cards and glass, so don't go tossing your stones around.
You musta been.... high. You musta been...
I do too, especially when the same members make so many good posts I can't bling them again! I think I must be too easy, LMAO
Oh I'll definitely be posting pics up... once I've taken it for a good long ride of course! Make sure you do the same. When are you taking your full test? Pity you're not in Chch, we could go harass the bike shops and take turns on the test bikes muahaha![]()

lol!!!... Im not 100% sure to be honest... my licence says I've had it since 2003... but it doesnt say when I went to restricted... I think it was about september last year... so still have... 9 or 10 months to go??...
(If do course to reduce time then 3 or 4 months to go...)
Restricted time is 18 months due to my age, I didnt get my restricted as soon as I should have lol... Am more than likely just going to wait it out and save over the 9-10 months so I can have more choice in bikes when I get the full.
"World famous since ages ago"
I feel your pain... my restricted time is 18 months as well - got it in August last year... almost as soon as I was eligable to sit it... I haven't been into bikes very long but love them now! Happily for me though, I turn 25 in November so I can cut a little bit off the time. Looking forward to being 25 now... cheaper insurance, full bike licence, bigger bike... it's going to be a worthwhile birthday for once! I'm a bit lucky in that I'm in a position that I don't need to save up to buy the next bike... which means I've been sorely tempted more than once already! Still, have decided to refrain from buying until I can actually test ride a few different options, I want to make my decision actually knowing how it rides! Go us![]()

I got the same! in fact they all thought I wanted a scooter![]()
Even when I started talking to them and it became obvious I did sort of know what I was talking about alot of them tried to screw me over on the price on a second hand bike. Also only give a crap discount on gear even though I would have been getting it all through them.
Then I went to Spectrum Motorcycles in Takapuna, Grant is awsome. He took me seriously right from the start even though at that stage I hadn't sat my license, and had a guy with me oh and I was dressed a bit girlygirl too! The best thing is I don't think he really cared if he sold a bike or not he just wanted to share his passion for bikes and wants to see more women getting into riding.
Needless to say hes now got my loyalty and my guy was so impressed that when hes ready to get a bike hes gonna be dealing with Grant too.
There was a bloke down here who was exactly the same with me. I was just a noob tyrekicker and he took huge slabs of his day to get me sorted, answer my questions and so on-this from the guy who's name is above the door.
Funnily enough, I still do all my business through them 4 years later![]()
