    Unhappy reasonable CAR tyre shop?

ok- i know it's off topic - but i'm in need.
i need to find a car tyre place that will fit some race tyres for me.
all the ones i've spoken to want $150 to fit and balance four new tyres i supply.
does anyone have suggestions or work somewhere that won't charge that much?
    thanks

sorry - is that humour ?
the tyres are not available through retail dealers otherwise i would have bought them from a tyre shop - they are race tyres and only available by phone and courier from the distributor.
is $150 for 30 mins work reasonable?
if so - i'm in the wrong game...
    thanks for your feedback motu.
nice to have some rational input from the trade.

LOL, pulled up to Cycletreads the other Sat afternoon to get a front tyre fitted to a rim and they were closed. There was this other guy standing there ranting and raving, he asks me if there is anywhere else to go? I was going to try Budgets but Street & Sports m/cs sign was out so wandered in and guy I know is behind counter. Hi, can you fit a tyre for me? Sure man, bring it in. So I go back to my car to grab wheel and tyre and this other guy ducks in ahead of me with two Ducati Paso wheels and wanted one tyre swapped from one rim to the other . God knows why they both looked as bald as each other, I just let him butt in and was chatting with Chris, and then this guy leaves and mumbles something and pisses off, didnt even ask if there was any charge or anything !! Chris and I just looked at each other like WTF? Hell, I was more than happy to pay $5 for fit and balance!!!

A lot of tyre shops will charge extra for tyres not bought off then to be fitted but that still sounds excessive, a few minutes with a telephone book should find someone more reasonable

Sometimes the cost will also depend on the method being used to balance them and gear used and whether they are using a clip on weight or stick on

If you'd like to bring them to Chch I will do it for a bottle of coke and some choccie biscuits

Most tyre shops shoudl do it -last time I had some tyres fitted to my rims ti was $10/tyre. How much is a puncture repair - there is more work in that than swapping some tyres over.

Are you sure someone didn't make an Oooops with the calculater, like move the decimal point? Noooo, four into 15 dont go. Mind you, $37.50 seems an odd number too.
Keep us posted, out of my own curiousity, as to what deal you end up with
