Who was it that got you started on here?

Thought it would be interesting to find out how you guys first became aware of this site and got you sucked into this site?

Me.... crashe ...The three of us me, meon3 and our son were parked outside a closed motorcycle shop in Auckland on a public holiday wondering if any bike shops were open. crashe turned up and started chatting. She told us that Motomail would be open so follow her.

She told of this site where bikers got together and shared knowledge and the like. Thought oh my god nirvana. How wrong could I have been?

That was about three years ago I think, good on ya crashe, what a legend.

A young guy on here called Nolan who had a cbr250rr , I worked with his dad and he told about this site that was awesome , so I took a gander and was in awe of all the info you could get .and the rides that I could go on , have`nt looked back since.Don`t think Nolan has his cbr anymore though he binned 4 times in a month , I think the whole forward momentum thingy had him buggered.

It was Google for me three years ago while searching for things on motorcycling. Found this great site with a few awesome people that were met at the different rides and rallies around the country. Now it would neigh on impossible to meet everyone who frequents here, yet there are still motorcyclists out there who have not heard of Kiwibiker yet.

Pleasant people who "pay it forward" with no regard for repayment, genuine people who drop everything to help if needed.

They've all left now and in one case died.

Thankfully there are "new" people who've become friends, some of whom I have never met. Creepy ol' Internet.

Old member on here by the name of Stevo. Came up to me one day and was chatting about bikes and asked if I wanted to go for a ride. He told me about KB if I wanted to get involved with riding more

Posted alot (of shit) but met some damn good people who I am proud to call my friend. Even (as Jim2 said) I havent met many and those I have met were top notch blokes

I stumbled onto the site via Google, and after I joined I got a PM from Uncle B inviting me a long to a ride. If it wasn't for this site I would never have been on a group ride, and met some really cool people.

Cajun - I used to bitch and moan about the amount of time he spent on KB so joined up to see what all the fuss was about.

This was in 2004 and (at the time) I thought that most members were young dickheads who couldn't handle the power of their bikes. I had this impression because whenever hubby came home from a KB ride I'd ask, "So who crashed today?" and he could give me a name It would've been better to hear "no one".

It didn't help when we rocked up to the KB rally at Tokaanu (sp) and I heard a youngin' asking everyone "so how fast did you go on the way here". It was torrential rain FFS

Anyway, I finally started posting after hubby persuaded me to have a few drinkies with the Tauranga crew. As it turns out, they're not as young or irresponsible as I'd originally thought

Feral1 was staying with me for the weekend and told me about the site. I lurked for a bit then jumped in. I've mets lots of good people and been some rides that wouldn't have happened otherwise. Great site.
