Which jacket?

Im looking for another jacket, I sold my leather jacket with my last bike and now need a new one for my new bike. I have been looking at a couple and are unsure of which is best. I love leather for the safety issues, as is thick an seems more protective, BUT, I also find leather bloody cold. The jacket I am more swayed towards at the moment is the "Rev-It" jacket", its three times the price of a leather jacket. but still has leather on it, on the arms and on the back, also has 3 inner linings that can be taken out. Has anyone got one of these and if so, are they comfy?

Going for textile with leather is a very good option. While I don't have the RevIt, I do have a Teknic jacket with leather on the sleeves and shoulders, and my next jacket will be either a Spidi or Macna that is similar (i.e., textile with leather bits in the abrasion-prone areas). My pants are Spidi Gran Turismo pants that have leather on the seat and inside of the lower legs, and I'm thinking or getting more leather added to the knees and hips.

Oh you're not talking about Str8 Jacket then?

Seriously though I'd say stick with leather and get one with a decent zip-in/out lining to keep you warm and have all the protection you need.

I think that leather is overrated and that generally bikers wear it because they think they have to. As you note, it's cold and not waterproof. If you're going to have to wear a jacket over your leathers for thermal or waterproofing reasons, you may as well invest in something that's got good armour, fit, functionality and GoreTex(TM) or equivalent.

I have a rev-it jacket - although not with any leather.

Keeps me warm and dry without issue. Fit is comfortable and it can be adjusted to a varity of builds.

I purchsed my after receiving recommendations and I'm also very happy. I have not had the other leakage problems that others have had with stiching etc.
