A shameless last resort attempt at finding work.

Firstly, I apologise for infesting this section of the forum with more unwanted tripe. Please know I would only do this if I was at the point of desperation. If it offends anyone or is unprofessional to do so feel free to delete/move appropriately.

Now, since I'm posting this, I'm obviously at the point of desperation

I'm looking for a job, to do with motorcycles, in any aspect. I have no mechanical qualifications so that's pretty much out of the question sadly. My current work is part time, as it has been slow and the company cut everyones hours in half untill it picks up again (looking unlikely).

Again I apologise for using this site for personal gain, but, I don't know. I can't explain it.. while I don't know much about the mechanical side of motorbikes, or the history of motorcycles in general, I have a deep, deep passion for them ever since I started riding. Yeah my old man rides, and his old man rode too, I guess you could say it was in the genes.. but I think it's more than that. I mean, shit, I had a dream I bought a Nolan n102 helmet the other night... who does that !?

I have extensive photoshop knowledge (to the point of it being borderline scary, previous job was photo restoration which I loved.), though I don't know how that would help in this industry. I would call myself a bit of an introvert, but people seem to like me.. and I like people.

There was actually a job in search4jobs.com about a bike detailer/washer and delivery person. However I'm a few months shy of my full licence so I couldn't deliver bikes But yeah, anything motorcycle related would just lift my spirits and be, well, just be peaches!

On the off chance that a miracle happens and someone with a vacancy sees this post, feel free to PM me with questions regarding my age/previous experiments and all that. Don't be shy! Reallllly!

Okay, 3rd apology, sorry to fill this forum with more unwanted caaaaarp but yeah, last effort and all that. :/

Thanks all for your patience if you read through all of that !!

Does this ideal job have to be located in Auckland?

I have a partner in Auckland so it would be ideal, however I'm willing to try 'make it work' if a job arises. She understands this (and I love her for it!).

I will pay you to photoshop headshots of people I don't like onto nasty porn bodies, which I will then email to their friends and family. Must be convincing.

Good luck in your work-finding efforts. How about getting in contact with a couple of bike magazines, there's work around for layout and design people.

I have been told this too often for it to be a coincidence. Maybe I will write a book and have a special price for KB'ers.

Thanks for the options everyone, I was thinking of giving some motorcycle magazines a ring. Specifically KiwiRider, I might as well give Bike Trader a call/email too. Can't hurt I suppose !

By the way, salary isn't really an issue.. if it's something I like doing then that's worth more than being able to afford a big screen TV, so long as I can maintain my bike and live that's all I care about hehe

That's good, cos an entry-level layout person or designer for a magazine is paid about $14 an hour, even though they do most of the work for the 'senior' people.
