Damn. I'm probably only gonna make it to the racing on Saturday and not the sprints on Sunday. Will probably just tick over 1000km and be ready for the 1st service which is booked in for next Tuesday. And with the year I've had I don't want to be stretching the warrenty issue too much... I just know things will go pear shaped if I do.

But I'll be at the sprints in October for sure

Hell, if the weather is good...I might have to come and have a look.

I won't be entering though, still getting used to the bike and I haven't got pants yet.

Just on a side note...what's the story...do marshals check the bike over before they let you go? Do you have to be wearing full leathers? Has anyone ever binned?

    .

An MV came very very very close to it last year. An old Triumph shat itself coming back to the pits. I don't recall anyone binning at this event.

I don't think leathers are compulsory - hope not cos I haven't got leathers!

Go to http://www.cdd.co.nz/sprint/sprint.htm and contact Peter (I can do it but can't post during the day so you'll get an answer earlier than me)

You just pay the money and you're away. If your bike looked rough then they might hold you back but I haven't seen that for the last 2 years (although most of the bikes were fairly new anyway).

It's a lot of fun and well worth the money and trip out there. I can't make this one (I'll be in ChCh for the next week) but I'll be keen on the Novemeber one.

PS, the MV that nearly binned it wasn't me (for a change).

I might have to ask permission from the kids ... as I would be away for 2 days of the hols ..... If the weather is any good .... I might have to make an executive decision and just tell them Daddy has an important "thing to do" ... It's about time I did something I guess instead of just talking about it .. and I really want to give the old girl her head ... she may be old but the last time I wound her out there was plenty left and I think the speedo said 210 ... but as has been stated here several times .... thet are very inaccurate at those speeds !! either way it would be nice to know ....
A man can move much faster without a millstone around his neck, so if he gets the chance to lose her he'd better drop her and run like heck !! .. (10cc "Modern Man Blues" - Deceptive Bends)

Did you have anyone in mind ???

I doubt the Brutale will be as good on that road as the F4 was. I have a feeling that around 230 the Brutale starts to struggle, at least that's what I heard :sly:

Should have bought Suzuki mate. 700km's on the clock and it got thrashed at the last sprints. No problems. But if the old Honda is a bit delicate then I guess you had better play it safe.

You obviously haven't heard about the two pantsless bikers in the US then... one wheelied into a tow truck and died, and the other was busted by the police.
Better start wearing pants before somehting bad happens to you too...
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

And tonight I walk out to the bike and around the back of it and see a different coloured rubber in the centre of my rear tyre!!!!! Called in at the bike shop and now have to have a different tyre to the front BUT Sunday is not about corners.

I got about 12000km (winter) out of the D220s.

Just what I didn't want. :spudwhat:

Still now to find the $35
