Curiousity has gotten the better of me. I've never tried a 'sprint' and I'm not good at standing starts. Just hope the wind stays away. I'll see some of you at WMCC tomorrow then.

Don't worry, Mark. Chuck me the keys and I'll give ya a fairly accurate demonstration.

Saw a rather tasty RC51 at a certain bike store in Alicetown today. Unfortunately they wouldn't let me have the opportunity to prove it could do 205mph tomorrow...

Never mind. See you guys tomorrow. Unfortunately as family is in tow I'll be in the cage so no speed records for my tatty old fizzer.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Lots of bikes, sun, no wind

Looks like I'm first home so I'll get in first. Big turnout of riders and KBers.
Long waits between 'sprints' was a drawback, no offence to organisers though. Thank you all for putting it on.
Haven't seen final results but I can't see anyone bettering Tony S's speed of 300kph or close to it (R1). Man's becoming a legend 3rd year in a row.
Best wheelie I saw goes to WhiteTrash. Full marks for style. Closing in on a bike in front, drifts to the right to pass then appeared to drift back into left lane. Or it was a fluke and he was totally out of control?
I only got in 2 flying sprints with a checked 274.8kph (saw 291 on the dial). Expected a bit better but I need practice at that sort of thing. Lynda B was fastest chick. I'll let her have her own say later.

Wicked day. I only did two runs of each.

My best on the flying was 227kph (6.37secs), it was on the second run (2kph faster than the first). I thought I'd screwed it totally cause I hit a false netural changing from 5 to 6 so I was a little surprised with that result. My goal was 230kph, maybe next time.

Best time on the standing was 11.58 secs, I really had no idea what to expect and I've only had the bike a couple of weeks so still kinda getting use to it. My goal was to do a sub 13sec run so I'm fairly happy with that.

    Highlight of the day:
Heading home, Catherine on the back, tank bag fully loaded. Pull off the motorway to head up the Nauranga Gorge. Stop at the front of the queue at the traffic lights. Shitty old ute pulls up in the left lane and starts gunning the engine, three young guys in it. Light turns green (the ute is already half way through the intersection, they started while the light was still red). I cruise around the corner in no particular hurry, come up beside the driver of the ute (doing about 70kph), turn and eyeball the driver then gun the throttle. To my surprise...the front wheel pops up, I hold it there for a couple of secs then drop it down and speed off up the gorge. It must have looked F***ing cool.

    Nice one

Yeah, I didn't know you could wheelie that easily with a pillion, but I found out you can (And JazBug5 will attest to that )

I was VERY disappointed with my top speed (only 253km/h, indicated somewhat more). It appears you CAN'T be a fat bastard ( ) and go as fast as eveyone else. All I can say, is watch out in November, since I'm planning on light-weighting my "bike"

Good on ya Hayden for the Standing, and Tony for the Flying. Oh yeah, and WhiteTrash for making me realise even more that I'm no good at wheelies :spudwhat: , by pulling great looking ones while looking somewhat relaxed

Now, just gotta clean the damn bike, helmet, jacket and boots tomorrow

    Cya

Guys, you all looked great from where Gini, Lena, Tim and I were sitting!

I'm pretty sunburnt now, but damn it was worth it! What a blast.

Best looking bike today - The Colin Edwards Aprilia Replica of course...

Best wheelie - WT (of course) with his second standing quarter run on a 1986 GSXR1100 - he got the front wheel about five foot in the air and then decided that wasn't enough so he decided to wobble it from side to side and STILL did a sub-12 quarter mile!

Best sounding bike - the MV Agusta F4 with the homemade exhausts - the most amazing bike I've heard in my life going past at 240+ a sound somewhere between snarling and singing and SO GOD-DAMN LOUD!!!!.

Best female rider - Lynda - glad you got the speed you were looking for.

Slingshot - you managed some pretty damn good takeoffs on that new bike - some guys were totally bunnyhopping trying to launch.

Excellent stuff guys. I was so jealous of all of you today... :spudwave:

Mate, I thought it would be a bit wanky to indicate the lane change while wheelying. Next time, I'll do so.

Great day all. Some bloody hilarious sights.

    I got a 253 on Jo's K4 600 which incidentaly, was 8kph down on last year on my K3.

251 on the '86 eleven hundy and a 10.68 standing with a duff start.

The highlight for me, however (you ready for this Deano?), was clocking 264kph on Deanos SP1.

    8ks faster than the owner!

On my very first ride of the thing

    With a pathetic launch.

See Dean, takes a Suzuki rider to get the best from a Honda. Nice speedo though, pity it was reading 293. Which is about 30k opptomistic.

    Is that a record?

Deano, looks like you've found a buyer for your bike.
