GN250 tyre pressures?

How often do I need to check the tire pressures on my GN250. What should they be? Thanks

Manual says 25 in the front, 29 at the back, unless 2-up, then it's 25 and 33. PSI, of course. I check mine at least every other time I fill up (although the manual does say check every day) and whenever she feels a bit sloppy around the corners... I usually need some air when I do check, not much though.

I'd say check them as often as you check your chain and oil. (Which is at least weekly, right?)

Yeah anytime I ride I cheque oil and chain should I oil the chain everytime I have recently cleaned and re oiled the chain with crc chain oil. What else should I check with the chain. The breaks on m gn are a bit squeky had a friend who is a mechanic look ar rhe bike when I got it. Apparently they do squeak sometimes. Also my low beam headlight doesn't work do I have to take the whole front light fitting off to change this.

I'll just check the manual, but I'm pretty sure the headlight stays on the bike.
Edit - yes, it can stay on the bike to replace the bulb.

Don't forget to check and adjust the chain tightness - your manual will tell you how -normally around 30mm of play.

Opinion differs on the frequency of lubing your chain. I go for once every 500k's which is around once a week.

I give my tyres a good prod every time I go for a ride to make sure the pressure is up. And check it properly maybe every two weeks. Less if i'm being slack.... i'm often slack.

Hey Steve,get a GN250 manual off the Hollow men.Can download it, it'll give you all the info you need.I run my tyres at 30 psi.I replaced the original as it was Chinese rubbish(slippery in the wet) and if its a chinese chain it will stretch fast so keep an eye on the tension.If you haven't got a torque wrench when adjusting your chain tension then mark your axle nut and count the turns so that you can tighten it back up to the correct torque,and remember the split pin.

Cant understand the negative comments on the original Cheng Shin tyres fitted to the GN.My bike is my transport to work,so is ridden every day ,in all weathers,and the tyres have never given me cause for concern.I can corner at 110 to 120klm/hr,even in the wet.The only slide was on black ice last winter,and the same patch put two cars in the ditch,whereas i just got a big adrenalin burst!I have just replaced the rear tyre,at 11500klm,having found two small cracks in the tread.My tyre shop got me another Cheng Shin of the same size,but I was interested to see it has a more rounded profile than the original,which was quite flat wth pronounced corners,more the sort of tyre you would expect to find on a sidecar outfit. The sharp corners produced a quite noticable 'flick' as you rolled up on to the corner,but gave no real cause for concern.The new tyre is much smoother through the corners.Re pressures,I run my rear at 32psi as due to my long legs i actually sit well back on the seat ,so more weight is over the back wheel.

They just don't grip as well, especially in the wet. Locking up the front wheel isn't something I really want to do in an emergency stop, and in Auckland I need to do a few of these sometimes

Also, it is usually learner riders on gn's. The extra grip gives them a bit of a safety buffer if they panic and slam on the brakes.

Well I run my rear tyre at 29psi and front at 25psi. Is this about right Im about 90kg. Anyone in thee tauranga region able to help me with tensioning the chain I know it is in the manual but im not quite sure how. Help would be appreciated thanks so much.
