    Summers on the way....

and I was thinking we should organise regular meets. Say the first Thursday of each month.

This way, not only do we not need to go through the whole "so where do you want to meet?" "I don't mind, where do you want to meet?" stuff, we also make it easy for new members to join in without feeling like they have to invite themselves or whatever.

I don't know if this has been done before (couldn't see anything under events). Can anyone suggest a good biker freindly (or should that be friendly biker friendly) pubs in Auckland for a regualr meet? (One of you agricultural types can organise soemthing for the folks outside of Auckland! )

Thursday nights are already an institution for Wellington larikans.

As soon as Daylight savings cranks up again, we depart Wellington Motorcycles at 6 pm for a local ride of normally an hour and a half in length. Then we cruise to the Lower Hutt carpark to meet other bikers, then on to ROQM for pool playing.

The short and local ride means we get a lot of newer riders on smaller bikes enjoying group rides.

    Brilliant fun.

Week-day lunch times would be difficult for many people to get to. Were is Galbraiths? would it be suitable for a large number of bikes?

Sounds like the Wellingtonians have got it spot on. Exactly what I was thinking of.

Galbraiths is an excellent Pub at the top of Mt Eden rd (they have a beer menu, when i saw it i almost cried) although not to sure about bike parking, they have a few designated parks in a pay-n-display carpark behind.

    Hey FB,

These kinda threads go nowhere without some decisive planning. I like where your going with this and think we should definitely have a regular meeting in Auckland somewhere.

I think GB is a great place - Garden bar, fantastic variety of beer and a half decent kitchen.

So what about lunch the first friday of every month ???? Or something like that ???

Galbraiths sounds good, I'm sure they have some disabled parks we can use

But more seriously, I think a meet in the day will exclude most peeps who aren't bums / students / self employed / shift workers. My vote is for Thursday evenings, easier to make it to than a midweek daytime meet, and a little quieter than a friday night.

FB, do you want to put up a poll on this and see what people choose?
