For the Douglas Adams fans among us........I now know where the restaurant at the end of the universe is.

Seriously tho, if you are looking for somewhere in the Wairarapa, the facilities in the camp attached to the showgrounds at Carterton aren't too bad. There's a pub just down the road and a golf course just round the corner, if that's what floats your boat. There's plenty of space, reasonably priced and reasonably central.
Carterton is ok, better than 'Greytown' and i do have fond memories of the Gladstone pub but thats a whole nother story....just kidding about Greytown.....i think

Oh, I have never stayed there, but apparently it is really nice. Bloody expensive though! Imagine the look on their faces if we all rocked on up.

At Wharekauhau I see in the Entertainment book the fixed lunch menu is $85 per head, the fixed dinner menu $175 per head and the card only gets you 25% off the bill up to a max of $40 - generous huh.

Otherwise two nights on the special package here http://www.wharekauhau.co.nz/specialoffer.html is only around a couple of grand per person, so I guess all us bikers can afford that no sweat eh? Why would you want to stay in Gladstone?

Where's Finn when we need him - perhaps he could book the joint out for us?
    Cheers

I always like the road to Pahaoa too and the Hinekura to Gladstone loop as seen on these threads http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=22980 http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=33831.
