set a date early so i can get leave fr work ... methinks i might need some serious recovery time if the southern crew turn up ... esp since 98 owes me more than a few woodstocks ...

Humiliation??? I am not a humble man! I don't really care where it is... as long as I can get there and have a few drinks and a bit of a yahoo... then I'll be happy.

This is a great idea, and with plenty of notice (6 months??) we could get a good bunch of people together with out a doubt. One thing though, Feb is not a good time for me, just back from summer break, to ask for more time off would be bit rich. Prefer it to be warm, so maybe March/April would work? Avoiding public/school holidays is probably a good idea too. I like the idea of alternating between islands too each year, and agree that not too big a trip past the ferry crossing would work best for all. For those that want a bigger ride to get there, hang tight, watch the callander and ummmmm travel to a KB do a bit further away

The Wairarapa is a fairly spread out kinda place. If this event were to happen over there... Where would it happen? Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm talking firm locations coz we'll need to book in advance.

At the end of the Mt Holdsworth Road about 15-20 minutes from Masterton.

Used to pretty much live at the camp in Lake Ferry! But that was 20 years ago.... good location - especially with the pub across the road.

Thats the farmstay, animal park. I didnt know they had accommodation.. well for large groups, but I can get info on them.

I agree best to arrange it so its not the weekends of the martinborough fair or the school hoildays.

My only problem with lake ferry is weather wise it can flocking blow there ,if no wind cannot beat the place , my last visit to Mt Holdsworth resulted in coming back to and finding some bugger nicked the battery in the cage but that was a few years ago thro
