What better excuse to buy a bike...

than a fake mid life crisis!

After a couple of decades off the two wheels and the recent selling of other toys (Blokart and Kite surfing gear) I just HAD to have something to replace them with.

That and I am apparently booked on a tour of the south island on a bike with my brother next year.

So, the search for a bike began. After visiting both Wellington motocycles and the outfit on Vivian street (motorad I think) and not receiving ANY SERVICE WHATSOEVER after looking pretty closely at a few bikes for about half an hour or more, I left. Honestly, what do you have to do to get any service at those places? Yeech

So I went to TSS motocycles and what a good job I did, excellent service helpfull staff and a willingness to offer good advice to someone who was not completely sure of what he was after.

I was looking for bang for buck and settled on a 2005 Hyosung GT650R that had done about 1600K's It was only a few hundred dollars more than a brand new 250 and had heaps more grunt. (I took the 250 for a ride and thought the lack of power would get a bit frustrating. Although it would be perfect if your on a learners.)

So I have had thebike for about a month now and am loving it! I am only riding in the weekends, not doing the daily jaunt into the city till summer) Ive been over the hill (Rimutukas a few times and over the Haywoods and up to the Paikakareki hill)

So its great to be on the road and good to keep my brothers VTX 1300 company in the garage!

Enough waffling, glad to be here, glad to back on two wheels, good times to all.
    Keep safe out there!

    Cheers
    Mark

    A motorcycle isn't a sign of a mid-life crisis. It's a mid-life enhancement.

Sometimes you actually have to ask for help mate! The guy's at Welly M/cycles are good guys. They've always looked after me and even offer me cups of tea's. I agree with you about TSS though they are also awesome!

    Welcome to KB, btw...
