(Sorry not a for sale or WTB) I was just browsing the trademe and saw this. Is this price for real? There are other bikes of the same model a few k cheaper...

I'd say it's about 2-3K too steep given the dents in the mufflers.

for that price I'd expect 2004 or lower km than 18,000.

However - the geography may be in it's favour - if there's not too many others like it in the south Island the market is cornered.

the RS250 is a nice piece of kit.

(edit) And now I've spotted something else - this is a Dealer Ad so it's only $1,500 over priced!

McJim is on the money... it's pretty expensive, has high kms, but there's not too many about in Chch. Might be worth a chat to the guy at the old bus depot, he seems to have imported a few strokers.

/edit: I'd rather be buying honest kms... with that amount, it seems more likely that nobody has fiddled with the speedo.

those dents are there as at some stage it's been laid down

i've been watching these rs250 ads for a while now - the text is always the same, and this one (like the others) is a grey import from japn - no idea on the history - 18000kms is a lot if you can't prove it's had a new top end. a freshen up is not parts expensive, but it will need to be done.

now for $13k (what it would cost all up) you could hang out and find a near-new one - holeshot i think had one with 800kms on the clock for $11k - i took it for a blat and it felt brand new

even this one's a grand cheaper, newer, and less kms....

Are these ones on TradeMe selling though?

Considering the rough sh1t bikes (250s) that people want $4k or $5k for, I'd pay more for an RS. (I did.. but had most of it built - that's where the money went)
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.
