guys ., i just wanted to say thanks for the words of encouragement and support, as well as the leads on gigs (you know who you are)

i am a little down right now and all the cheerleading takes the edge off of it for me . i am trying to stay positive and focused but my morale is at an all time low right now and i have to admit that i DO define myself by my job and my role in life. I have 4 sons and a gorgeous wife and i feel like i am letting them down and not putting forth a good role model image for the boys

thanks heaps.. i will let you know what happens.. keep the ideas and suggestions coming

I'm with oldrider. Sounds like you have plenty of value to provide without needing to be managed by someone else...

Perhaps you are jaded from previous self-employed experience, but I thought it fits quite well with that swords/plows quote in your sig.

yea .. but as i mentioned, i dont want to run a business myself.. working for someone else, i can disconnect from that world when i need to in order to decompress.. running a biz is a 24/7 commitment and i have no interest in living that life at all.. easy way to a heart attack or suicide

Hey, understand but you were made redundant and they don't think you have let them down.........show them your feminine side man (that doesn't make sense does it ) and take this time with them....your role in life is with your family right now and things happen for a reason and no I am not gonna give you that God stuff either......you will be a role model by being positive.

Keep smiling mate...something will turn up and when it does it will be the right thing.

GB.. in my old fashioned world, the dad was the breadwinner .. the rock on which the family was built.. i dont mean to sound sexist or anything here, gawd knows my wife works very hard, but i dont feel like i am contributing much here .. oh sure ,.. dinner is on the table every night ( im a good cook) and the house is clean and laundry done, but i am not built for this man ..

i just need someone to chuck hand grenades at me for the rest of my life .. not dish cloths

Not a good role model? Your job fell over and you're A-into-G putting in the effort to get another one. Sounds like a fucking ideal role model to me.

Ya ned to get wid der times dude..........money is not the only source of giving....ever thought that your Wife feels that she doesn't contribute much....not saying she does feel that cause I do not know her but just turning things on their head.........kids often say "I wish Daddy did not have to work so much so we could spend more time with him"...

Tell you what wet the end of a tea cloth and twist it and flick someone and it hurts........lethal weapon in the untrained.

    Get me drift dude.....

"But Daddy, you growled anyway"........seriously though Kids understand more than you realise so just keep talking to them and say sorry when you growl and do things with them to distract you....mm from growling....I know take them to 'Paint Ball'..........

Chin up man. Life throws curveballs. At least you are getting up after falling down and not staying down, that deserves respect and any man who says otherwise wouldnt be smart

As Dav says, sounds like a fucken ideal Role model to me....

Blackwater pays about $40,000 more at least compared to USMC. Mortality rate is a bit higher, but then they always get sent to do things official troops aren't allowed to do.

Theres work available at my place, but it's in CHCH and its a support role for a technical and engineering team.

I went for an interview about a year ago & had to take & pass a drug test. Sweet as I think no problem there, but they said I had dak in me. Bull shit i said, don't touch the stuff (been off the stuff for years) No they said I tested possative,
So I say well I must have inhaled some a a party blah blah, no they said that the amount I had in me was that of a heavy usser. WTF ????

I wanted the job so I said there's been a mix up, let me retest & I'll pay for it,
    OK they say.

Retest come back clean. Start job following monday sweet money comming back in & not bad money either.
Two months later get sacked for fighting, It seems self defence isn't a let off card, you fight you go thats that.
Not happy with this a go to a lawer find out what I can do.
Take the guy (the dickhead that started it) to court blah blah blah
Thats a waste of time & money so I stole his car/s.

Got another job way less money back on the dak & haveing the time of my life. The boss is a good c^nt & the guys there (most of them) are pretty bloody good.

So I say just go for any job & see what happens if you don't like it leave try another.
I still have this job & it's the lowest paid job I've had since I can remember but the funny thing is I don't mind getting up at 5 in the morning & going there. It's actually fun I like it.

There's your problem right there - an ethical salesman.
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!
