    Awesome... they usually are.
Today was even better, i can say that as even though i had a close look at the ground on several occasions on the return trip via the Eyre riverbed, I did not actually ever come off.
By some lucky more than skillful twists of the throttle as the nose was diving or washing out, the DR jumped back to the upright position saving me every time.

Well I only had a close look at the ground on 2 occassions, but by lack of luck or skill, ended up on my arse both times. 1st one relatively early in the day I lost the front in some slippery muddy stuff, 2nd time was late in the day when I was getting knackered and arsed off in the soft shingle.

I had a great day though, and it was good to meet some new faces. Cheers guys.

I didn't take many photos, too busy riding ...

Was great to finally get back on the bike again. Had heaps of fun blatting down the Eyre river in the loose gravel (along with all the other bits). I also had a few moments but the handle bars never touch the ground

Hope the little blue bike rider made it home safe and isnt too sore?

    Cheers R

I had an awesome day too! Was nice to christen the freewind with a wee lie down in the muddy water!

The little blue (and scratched) bike was last seen on the back of a trailer heading towards Ashburton. I think the rider may be slightly sore tomorrow....

Was waiting till this morning before commenting on the neck. I'm pretty good, not sore but can feel that I've used it. The blat down the Eyre was pretty full on so if anything was going to upset it, that would have.

All in all I think I can say that the neck has passed the first test and things are looking good.

    Cheers R

    Talking

    I think I strained somethin'....

I didn't have too many 'looks at the ground', but I felt it with my elbows a few times, and had a very close look at/taste of the crashpad on my bars while trying to emulate the Pink Panther's Evil Kinevil trick of leaping tall riverbanks in a single bound. Final tally for the day - 2x falling over while stopped, 1x proper off, 1x near ingestion of own handlebars as above. I'm a little bit sore today...

Great day guys, can't wait for the next one.

Thanks cooneyr & the team for a great day. The gravel parts were superb plus you guys sure can hussle your adventure bikes through the rough. Timg on the Transalp & nigelp on the Freewind did bloody well in the gnarley bits too.
I'm a novice in that off road stuff & obviously have got a lot to learn yet. My "off" still hurts but at least the codine is working & the wee blue DT has cleaned up well (considering).
Thanks again & when's the next adventure run?

That's good to hear that you are on the (Off) road to recovery.
