Basic requirements to get the engine running?

Hey all, got a fella who wants to build a go kart so doing a deal to give the engine from my vfr etc in return for some stuff..

My question is what do I need to provide to get the engine running?

    What off the loom etc?

    Talking bare essentials here.

    Cheers

    Petrol, Air, Spark...

    nah, just kidding.

Why not think about what you don't need:

    Headlights, Indicators, brake lights.

Do you want to run a total loss ignition?

Does it have an electric fuel pump?

This would be a good starting point. If it were me, I'd just use the whole wiring loom and unplug what I don't need. But I'm just lazy. Others may have better ideas.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

So the crux of the matter is you want to keep as much as possible in case you get the funds together to rebuild the bike in the future?

He's not the type of bloke I want to give more then needed too.

He just wants engine for a gokart, just wondering what needs to go with it to make it go.

    Ok dude. He needs
Engine, carbs, airbox, exhaust,Some sort of fuel tank. Clutch cable/lever assembily.
MAIN wiring loom, CDI box,Right hand switch block,Regulator/rectifyer.Battery.

Some stuff I'd be questioning the buyer about --Like the switch block and clutch lever assembily.A kart guy might want to rig up a foot clutch and his own starter button.

A diaphram type fuel pump is the go....a-la early two stroke jet ski.
Run off manifold....simple and cheap...and no need for any extra wiring!
