    true story

    after spending sometime staying in his campervan in waihi a hamilton man broke down in the karangahake(cant spell that) gorge on his way home. he then hitched a ride to paeroa and wrote a letter to his son ask for his help with the campervan posted it and went back to the vehicle which he spent the next four days waiting for his son to arrive.

    was his son an auckland cop by any chance?

    not a bad idea, might write a letter to work on sunday from hastings, "broke down, be in when i can"

    My Grandad's currently living the life of a Gypsy. I'm pretty sure he'd be in no hurry either if he was stranded somewhere.

    Not like he in a hurry to go somewhere.

    Old age, only destination is the one to try and avoid.

    Seriously, the guy had a camper van, what difference does it make to him if his holiday was on the side of the road. Still got his 'house' with him.
