    This dash don't belong!

Hay there,hi there, ho there, nice to be here to be here nice.
I've got me a 1981 xv750 a pretty tidy bike witch I bought off trademe
acouple of months ago.Im starting to work on it,changed the handle bars to drag bars with 6" risers looks better already. My prob is I dont think this is the right dash for it,besides it does'nt seem to sit right nothing is working on it execept for the speedo. It,s a single speedo with left and right singals, high beam, and a neutral light all of witch ain,t going.I checked the wirers running down from it into the head light and they go no were, the only other wirers on the bike are two plugs floatin around. The dash wires hav'nt a plug and seem colour coded the same but no go,all the bulbs go as I toto around but just cant get them right.Anyone with a xv750 could you tell me what goes were please.

    1st plug has Blk
    Drk/Blue
    Lht/Brwn
    Blk/Red stip
    Drk/brwn
    Red/wht strip
    2nd plug Blk
    Orang
    Lt/Brwn
    Drk/Blu
    Lt/Blu
    Yello
    Dash wirers are neutral Lt/Blu
    LT/brwn
    turn left Drk/Brwn
    Blk
    Turn right Drk/Grn
    Blk
    highbeam Yello
    Blk
    dashlight Drk/Blu
Blk all the black wirers are joind together. thanks guys for any help.

The XV's ALL have speedo/rev counter with the neutral indicator lights in a panel in between.
The early models had two ROUND dials the later models had twin 3/4 rounds with a flat bottom on em

Sorry mate the one thing I dont know much about is wireing, I have a son who is an electrical engineer but he is currently in Wellington so of no use to you.In so far as the instrument panel is concerned there is both a rev and KMH ometers fitted in one chrome case , there is also a black dash pad.I dont know about the wireing but I do have a donar bike and you can have the wireing for instruments if you want it.A pity I have a lot of other parts also but sold them a week or so ago and just waiting for the cheque before I freight them off.Go to www.viragotech.com and there is a ton of info.On ebay there is a full set of instruments for sale as well as a dash pad.Anyhow to cut a story short ring me if you wish to look at both of my bikes to see where you are going.Telephone 07 863 3306
    Cheers Pat
