If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!

A few lads near my group took a distinct disliking to this (there being a no car rule - it's a bike rally after all). The disgruntled bikers had no problem airing their views.
The outstanding comment I heard was "if you don't ride it, F-off"!!!!
Yeah - they really don't get it do they. I mean I can understand trailering rat bikes and trail bikes but all your luxuries too? If you can't fit it on your bike, you don't fucking need it!

I'm in two minds about this these days. I've always taken all my own gear to and from rallies...and my mate Pete & I take HEAPS of gear! Last year after the Kiwi, as we were packing up, we were offered a lift for all our gear in SCMC van, which made the ride home a little less strenuous. If it makes the weekend more fun and easier for large groups then I reckon its ok. A lot of clubs have members who cant ride for whatever reason but they still want to attend. At least the cars/utes/vans only drop gear off then have to park out the gate.
This year it was back to lugging all the gear on the bikes tho.

Gotta agree, especially if you got a mate that might have binned or is between rides and is willing to trailer things for you. It sure makes the ride that much sweeter!

I'm afraid I'm of the same opinion...No car full stop! A mate of ours had his lady come along in her car (which was fine), but the car was staying up top at the gates.

Fair is fair: it's a bike rally!

Absolutely, but imagine the fun you can have knowing there's a trailer there to get you home should you get overzealeous!

thing is, I don't need to get so inebriated that I can't get my arse back anywhere I came from in one piece...

I have a whole lot of fun, even when sober! Just you try keeping me off the dance floor...

Good god, man - carting the gear is half the fun!

As for larger groups they'll have less gear per person.

Oh I agree! I had a blast on the way down in the howling wind, fully loaded! Even managed to piss Pete off by leaving him behind. If you've never been lucky enough to have someone else take all your gear home, then try it before you knock it.

    Oh they'll be back!
If he and his mate on the ninja make it next year, that'll be 7 years on the same bikes...and the ninja has not even had an oil change in 6 years.
